Rammstein and Kerrang's young hopefuls rock up

CITYLIFERS whose wardrobes lack a little colour innovation, whose jewellery is more clunk than bling and whose boots bovva rather than accessorise are probably rubbing their hands together with glee at the prospect of the week ahead.

Well, underneath their hardened, serious frowns they’ll be smiling inside, CityLife is sure. Because it isn’t often that a scene’s crème and upcoming step into your city in the same seven days.

The crème? That’ll be Rammstein: Germany’s biggest rock band since The Scorpions. The dark rock group didn’t have such immediate success, admittedly – they formed in 1994, but remained a cult band for the underground industrial music scene for about five years, when nominations for MTV and Grammy awards changed everything and their album Mutter scored them their first UK No1.

Hoping for similarly glorious careers are All Time Low, The Blackout, Young Guns and My Passion, who play Kerrang’s annual Relentless Energy Tour.

Rammstein: MEN Arena - February 2, 2010 - £41.
Kerrang: Academy - February 4, 2010 - £15.50.
