Trek Africa with Maasai Warriors Trek Africa with Maasai Warriors

ADVERTORIAL

DO you want to trek the Great Rift Valley in Africa?

From June 11 until June 21, 2010, a group of budding explorers will be jetting to Africa to trek 100km through the Great Rift Valley, all in aid of The Blue Cross - Britain's pet charity.

The Great Rift is one of the world's greatest geological features. The Valley is a 6,000-mile crack in the earth's crust, stretching from Lebanon to Mozambique. Within the Great Rift on the eastern side of Africa is the beautiful Tanzania, which is where the trek is held.

During this 11-day exclusive journey, participants will trek through wild African country, along a route where Maasai villages and majestic volcanoes rise - this makes the most dramatic but beautiful backdrop imaginable to hold the trekking challenge.

Magnificent

Local Maasai warriors are guides on the trek and en route, participants will also have the chance to climb the volcano Kitumbeine; the higher slopes of which hide remote Maasai settlements.

In addition to this magnificent trek, there will also be a visit to Lake Manyara Park to experience a game drive. Lake Manyara is one of the most beautiful lakes in Africa where orphaned and injured animals from the wild are cared for.

To take part in this fantastic challenge, participants can register for just £249. They must then raise a minimum sponsorship of £2,995 for The Blue Cross. All travel, accommodation, refreshments, guides and medical support are included. Full fitness training to prepare for the challenge and fundraising support will be provided through organisers, Global Adventure Challenges.

Places are extremely limited.
