New Education: teaching us the way

SOFA, SO GOOD: New Education SOFA, SO GOOD: New Education

EVEN as a band in its fledgling career, they are signed to the same label that launched The Wombats and The Whip. And let's not overlook the small matter of being spotted on the NME radar!

Now you can amble along and see for yourself whether Stoke-on-Trent based four-piece, New Education, live up to the hype when they play Ruby Lounge as part of the Lost & Found re-launch party on August 7.

With support from Orphan Boy, The Sensations and The Kings, New Education have already earned a loyal fan base in their home town with rowdy, sweaty gigs at The Sugarmill and the Underground.

Having previously supported Pete Doherty and The Rifles, New Education now seem eager to make a mark on their own.

Hailed as the ‘sound of the Midlands’ by the band themselves, their style leans towards gritty, self-assured rock, the strength of which has already seen the release of two successful singles.

Based on these, we anxiously await their EP…
