Temp/Casual to premiere at 24:7

TEMPTRESS: Vicky seducing her boss TEMPTRESS: Vicky seducing her boss

THE sixth annual 24:7 Theatre Festival showcasing newly-developed Manchester writing and acting talent includes 105 performances of 21 plays in five venues over seven days.

And writer/producer Steve Timm’s new play Temp/Casual could be the one to look out for.

It’s a gritty black comedy that follows the fractured dreams of a group of university graduates as they struggle through debt, drugs and the 9-to-6 slog (everybody works longer hours these days).

Susan wants to act, yet is trapped in a dead job. Colleague Vicky enjoys a sideline as a web-cam dominatrix and Susan is tempted to join her. Adam stacks lager in an off-license; he wants to be a stand-up comedian but is too busy selling drugs.

Temp/Casual is directed by Ben Power and written by Steve Timms and runs from July 20-26 at New Century House. For show times visit the link to the right. £8 (£6 Concession). Tel booking: 0870 428 0785.
