Bob Dylan comes to South Manchester
BOB DYLAN is coming to Manchester. Not in physical form, though in the way of the UK’s only Bob Dylan Festival. Once again, M19 bar in Levenshulme is staging the UK’s Bob Dylan Festival, with fans and acts flocking there.
Over the bank holiday weekend from Friday August 28 to Sunday August 30, the festival managers have certainly picked a suitable time. One of only seven Bob Dylan festivals worldwide, this is a great opportunity for Bob Dylan fans to meet other like-minded people.
Kicking off with an Irish night to launch the weekend, Shake the Barley, Bernadette O’Grady, Reckless Elbow, Tina McKevitt and Matt Hegarty, Mickey the Hat, Peter Aldridge and Andy Keeble will feature.
Blues influences
The Saturday, however, is focusing on paying tribute to Bob Dylan’s blues influences, with a line-up including Bullfrog Brown, who are being sponsored by the Estonian Embassy.
With a final night appreciating Bob’s country influences, key player Jersey Budd will feature.
Fresh from his release of a CD featuring the vocals of Kasabian’s frontman Tom Meighan, Jersey has recently appeared at Glastonbury.
With tickets for the festival jut £4 in advance of the night, or £10 for a weekend pass, it’s an event suitable for even relatively empty pockets.
You can get your hands on tickets from m19 directly, or see the link on the side for more information.
