IF you weren’t lucky enough to catch Mark Gwynne Jones And The Psychicbread at their sell out show home-coming show in January, you’ll be glad to hear they’re returning to Manchester. On July 11 they’ll be performing at The Kings Arms, in a show using humour, music and poetry.

In what Jones explains as ‘a tragic-comedy’, he’ll bring stories alive using a ‘freed part of a Sherman Tank from the MOD.’ And even if you did see him in January, the show has grown massively since then.

Mark has teamed up with kora player Nick the Hat, pianist Deb Rose, performer Louise Swain and percussionist John Thorne. Having won the Buxton Fringe award in 2008, Mark Gwynne Jones and the Psychicbread have already been described as having the ‘best spoken word’ events combining poetry and multi-art performances.

Jones’ enthusiasm for the King’s Arms, which he says is ‘second to none’ will surely influence his return and the fusion of poetry and music he will deliver with the Psychicbread. Admission is £7, so within most people’s budgets. The doors open at 8pm and the show begins rolling at 8.30pm.
