MIF: An introduction
IT hardly feels like two years since the first Manchester International Festival dazzled the city and the world with a succession of events of such boundless invention and amazing quality that they’re still being talked about.
How to follow that? What about raising the bar even higher with the 18 days of this year’s MIF?
M.E.N. Media is proud to be a media sponsor and you can read in-depth interviews with some of the people behind some of the events in this special supplement .
However, the most important people are you, and there’s surely something at this year’s Festival for everyone.
Why not get caught up in the excitement and drama of the opening weekend’s Procession, or meet with international artists – or your friends and neighbours – throughout the Festival at the beautiful Festival Pavilion?
This year it is situated outside the Town Hall, which is also where you and your family can join in the awfully big adventure that’s the free, weekend-long extravaganza, The Great Indoors.
“I hope the Festival is exhilarating, thought-provoking and welcoming to all,” says Festival Director Alex Poots.
We think it will be.
