Summer nights with the stars in Spinningfields

FILM lovers will be able to watch their movie idols under the stars this summer at an open-air cinema.

A giant movie screen has opened at the Spinningfields business district in the city centre offering free showings screenings of classic films and sports events.

Free screenings of cult and modern classics will take place every Thursday at 9pm, weather permitting.

Favourites including The Graduate, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Monty Python and The Holy Grail have been pencilled in.

The summer’s biggest sporting events, including the Ashes cricket will also be shown on the 16ft by 10ft screen.

Last Night At The Proms

And classical music fans will be treated to a variety of prom concerts, including Last Night At The Proms live from London’s Royal Albert Hall.

Popcorn will be available for all filmgoers and drinks and food promotions will be available from all nearby bars.

Deckchairs and picnic blankets will also be available for hire.

*PLUS that's not all, as following the film frolics on Thursdays, live music will kickstart the weekend on Fridays it has been confirmed.
