THAT characterful Hydes pub The Nursery, on Green Lane in Heaton Norris has been named Pub of the Month for June by Stockport and South Manchester CAMRA at the same time as it celebrates 25 consecutive years listed in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide.

The CAMRA selection panel judge the pubs against the criteria of: the quality of its beer, the comfort of the furnishings and décor, the warmth of the welcome and the overall atmosphere it created.

Originally built in 1939, the Nursery has been a perpetual CAMRA favourite an in 2001 it won the Campaign’s National Pub of the Year title.

The Nursery (famed also for its bowling green) will be presented with a special certificate from CAMRA at 8pm on Thursday, June 25.
