You concur? Well then, let us introduce you to Florence Welch – feisty flame-haired frontwoman with Florence And The Machine, who told our very own Gary Ryan last year that she hates to be loved.

“Whenever I release something, I don’t like it anymore,” she said. “If everyone loves it, it’s like, ‘I ******* hate it now!’.

Erm… We don’t know where that leaves you, CityLifers, but it sure makes us wonder how we should react when she rocks home a fearsome version at Kiss With A Fist or tickles our fancy with Rabbit Heart at St Phil’s on Monday?

Look nonchalantly at the stained glass windows, perhaps? Direct our applause around her to her Machine, maybe? 

Frankly, we know we won’t be able to contain our excitement. We only hope we don’t send her off stage in a huff…
