Triple joy for Oasis

TRIPLE CROWN: Oasis

AHEAD of their three huge Heaton Park homecoming shows, Oasis have claimed the top three positions in a poll of the best British songs of all time.

Live Forever by the Manchester rockers came in at number one, followed by Wonderwall and Don’t Look Back In Anger.

A fourth Oasis song, Champagne Supernova, also made it into the top 10. The poll was voted for by several thousand radio listeners.

Paul Jackson, group programming director for The Xfm Network said: “Oasis undoubtedly has one of the most significant catalogues of all time.”

The radio station survey was dominated by Greater Manchester, with The Stone Roses, The Verve, Joy Division riding high in addition to Oasis.
