New Northern film festival AND wins Legacy Trust funding

GOOD news for budding film-makers!  Trendy arthouse cinema The Cornerhouse has joined forces with FACT (Liverpool) and folly (Lancaster) to create a brand new cross-regional festival of New Cinema and Digital Culture.

Abandon Normal Devices (AND) is part of WE PLAY -  the Northwest's cultural legacy programme for the London 2012 Olympic/Paralympic Games - and has been awarded major funding from the Legacy Trust UK to help bring it to life.

Festival director Kate Taylor said: "the plan is to champion provocative artists, filmmakers and concepts, engage audiences in intense discussion and host a cracking social event."

Sounds like Citylife's kind of thing.  Check back for updates.
