Basement Jaxx and Dizzee Rascal for Creamfields

CREAMFIELDS: Headline slots from Basement Jaxx and Tiestoclose

BASEMENT JAXX, Calvin Harris and Tiёsto will be among the acts topping the bill at this year’s Creamfields festival.  

The event, which runs on the 29 and 30 of August at Daresbury, Cheshire, will also see a festival set from grime superstar Dizzee Rascal, who will be testing out his new dancefloor-friendly direction.

Taking to the stage last on Saturday will be legendary Dutch trance producer Tiёsto, who, fingers crossed, will be treating the crowd to a 17-minute version of Adagio For Strings, as well as playing new material.  

“I'm very excited to be headlining,” he said. “Creamfields always has a wild crowd and I can't wait for them to hear some of the new music that I'm producing."   

Rave-up in the country

Headlining on the Sunday will be Basement Jaxx, airing new album Scars – which features guest slots from Yoko Ono, Santogold and Lightspeed Champion – to their biggest UK crowd of the summer. “It’s a right old rave-up in the country,” said Felix Buxton from the band, “the crowd is always up for it.”  

This year’s indie box is ticked by Friendly Fires, while Mylo (the old Calvin Harris) will be playing tunes from his new album in his only UK festival show of the summer.    

Other notable acts appearing at the two-dayer include 2MANYDJs, Crookers, Aeroplanes, Annie Mac, Erol Alkan and Pete Tong.
