Creamfields slashes prices for 2009

PRICE CUT: Creamfields PRICE CUT: Creamfields

WITH a summer increasingly saturated with festivals (hopefully the only saturation going on this year), Creamfields have sensibly reacted to the glum economic climate by reducing their prices for their annual August dance extravaganza.

Prior to Friday’s launch, the organisers have confirmed that the first 5,000 punters wishing to attend year’s fest in Daresbury, Cheshire will able to get their mitts on a weekend and camping tickets for just 100 nicker, while days tickets have been frozen at 2008 prices too.

Last year Leicester electro-rockers Kasabian were the big draw and this year’s line-up for the two-day bash across the August Bank Holiday weekend will be announced this Friday on Pete Tong’s Radio 1 show.

On the price cuts Creamfields CEO James Barton says: “We’re in the midst of a recession with most people having to tighten their belts, so we’ve made the first 5,000 tickets as cheap as we possibly can.

“I hope this goes a little way to easing the cash burden for the people who have been there for us through thick and thin.

“On a first-come-first-serve basis, it will be our most dedicated fans who will benefit.”

Creamfields takes place on Saturday and Sunday, August 29 and 30. On general sale on Friday, April 3 from 9am. Call 0844 888 4401. Mixmag readers can buy then now though.
