Art exhibition opens at Royal Exchange Theatre

GOOD news for those of you planning to catch a show at the Royal Exchange Theatre next month, because the opening of a new exhibition in the Craft Shop means you can make it a cultural double whammy.

From April 1 to May 16, the Craft Shop will showcase a selection of original limited edition screenprints by internationally acclaimed landscape artist Donald Fraser Hamilton.

Hamilton - who turns 80 this year - combines his Scottish descent and an affinity with French painting to create dreamlike landscapes in layers of thick, bright paint.

The Craft Shop (Royal Exchange Theatre, St Ann's Square, Manchester) is open Monday-Saturday from 9.30am until the start of the performance.
