MIF: Time to get in your (Manchester) report
MANCHESTER, as any Mancunian and/or historian worth their salt should know, was at the heart of the industrial revolution.
One of the bi-products of that era was the boost, which fossil fuel use received and the impact it had on climate change.
It only seems fitting then that we should also be at the heart of attempting to solve this much-publicised problem – step forward The Manchester Report.
Taking place on July 4 and 5 and utilising prominent experts from the fields of science, business and world affair (all overseen by leading legal eagle Lord Bingham) – the two-day programme will examine a range of carbon-reducing schemes.
The results will make up a report – hence the title – to be published ahead of December’s UN climate change conference in Copenhagen.
Each session will last around three hours (there are two a day, starting at 10am and 2pm) and entry is free, although tickets will be required – available one hour prior the start time on a first-come-first-served basis.
Get your green thinking caps on then…
