Chocolate time in Ramsbottom

CHOCS AWAY: The fest takes place on April 5 CHOCS AWAY: The fest takes place on April 5

IN these times of financial uncertainty we could all do with a bank balance sparing pick-me-up, so what better way to fritter away a day and indulge your self than at Ramsbottom Chocolate Festival.

Recently dubbed the ‘new Chorlton’ due to its sprinkling of new eateries, the Lancashire mill town will host the one-day tribute to ultimate sweet tooth guilty pleasure on Sunday, April 5.

Set to be packed with chocolate-related stalls, demonstrations and tastings, they’ll also be an Easter egg design competition to keep the nippers occupied, World Record attempts (most Ferrero Rocher eaten in one minute – one imagines his excellency wouldn’t be to amused to see his precious choccies being scoffed with such wild abandoned) and, to cap it off, Real2Reel Cinema will be showing the film 'Chocolat' at the Civic Hall at 4pm.

The proceedings will get under way at 11am and run until 3pm.
