MADE FOR WALKING: Little Boots

MUCH written about night Wonky Pop invades Manchester tonight after time spent at Matter in London and touring the UK.

The night, which wrestles the pop music ideom from the hands of children and runs with it to the nearest alcohol serving nightclub, has struck up a deal with Sankeys and launches on Friday, March 27 with a line-up that surely reads as a statement of intent.

Little Boots, Foals, Lady Sovereign and Alphabeat are all playing the first party turning Sankeys into a small festival of pop for one night only.

Of course Manchester has been championing these sounds for a while now and many of our best nights such as Clique are famous outside of the city in their own right so it will be interesting to see what Manchester makes of these invaders at the city walls.

CityLife will be watching eagerly for signs of urban warfare amongst the city’s pop promoters. Could be fun.
