Oasis and Elbow to play V
OASIS and The Killers will headline this year’s V Festival, it was announced today.
The Burnage-formed rockers and the Las Vegas indie-poppers will be joined by Bury quintet Elbow and indie-dance kids The Ting Tings at the Stafford and Chelmsford sited festival.
Completing the line-up announced so far are The Specials, Fatboy Slim, Razorlight, Snow Patrol, Keane, Pendulum, James, Lily Allen, Peter Doherty, MGMT, The Enemy, The Script, The Streets, Happy Mondays, Dizzee Rascal, Biffy Clyro, Paolo Nutini, The Saturdays, Seasick Steve, Ocean Colour Scene and Lady Ga Ga.
Festival director, Bob Angus, said: “We’re genuinely thrilled to have such an eclectic line-up this year.
“Our headliners, The Killers and Oasis, are two of the biggest acts in music today and with them being joined by some really exuberant newcomers, this summer’s V Festival is set to give festival fans something to shout about.”
The festival, in its 14th year, takes place at Hylands Park, Chelmsford and Weston Park, Staffordshire.
*IN other Oasis related news, their China dates have been cancelled after the band were deemed 'unsuitable' by the authorities. Shows in Beijing and Shanghai have apparently been pulled because Noel Gallagher played a Free Tibet benefit in the US in 1997.
The V Festival will take place over August 22 and 23. For more details go to www.vfestival.com.
