No Manc date for U2
THERE'S bad news for the city's U2 fans, after it was revealed the veteran rockers WON'T be playing here on their 360° Tour.
The Dublin quartet, who released their 12th studio LP – No Line On The Horizon – to largely warm reviews last week, will only play Sheffield, Glasgow, London and Cardiff when the UK leg of the world jaunt arrives in August.
The four-piece, who currently top the album charts with the record, were last in town for two nights at the City Of Manchester Stadium in June 2005.
Manchester City no longer need the income from high-profile gigs though, so alas, a trip across the Scottish/Welsh/Yorkshire border will be required if you want to catch Bono and the boys.
There's good news for Bury veterans Elbow though, who will continue a heady 12 months by supporting them on certain dates along with with Kaiser Chiefs, Snow Patrol and Black Eyed Peas.

They've been saying that for 33 years my friend ;-)
Best news I've heard in ages. fnord.
My most heartfelt sympathies go out to the unfortunate people of Sheffield, Glasgow, London and Cardiff. Chin up folks, they'll be gone soon.
