Farmers' Market to return to Eccles

FRESH, LOCAL PRODUCE: Farmers\' Market FRESH, LOCAL PRODUCE: Farmers' Market

IN these testing times, any bid to encourage diversity and choice for shoppers has to be commended.

So raise a glass to The Eccles Shopping Centre and their flourishing Farmers' Market, which returns on Saturday.

The usual offering of lovingly produced and reared food will be on show with stalls selling meats, preserves, pies and cakes.

Since they launched earlier in the year The Eccles Farmers’ Market and the Eccles Community Art Gallery have both become favourites among visitors to the shopping centre.

The latest display at the art gallery features Anthony Moran’s, ‘Faces Of Eccles’. This was created using photos taken of visitors and workers at The Eccles Shopping Centre during last Saturday’s Summer Festival. Anthony’s work will be showcased at the gallery over the next four weeks – can you spot someone you know?

Karen Illingworth, gallery organiser said: “The ‘Faces Of Eccles’ is a superb community orientated piece of artwork which shouldn’t be missed!

“Eccles Community Art Gallery which is sited on Boothway is completely free to enter,” she added.

Karen is interested in talking to anyone who would like to become involved with the community art exhibition, whether you are a local art club or artist. To find out more about the opportunities available, please phone Karen on 07981791475.

The next event will take place at the Eccles Shopping Centre on Saturday, September 19 from 9.30am.
