IN a week when Alison Seagrave announced she was quitting Harvey Nichols to run her own patisserie, news of another Manchester culinary great starting a new life.  

Paul Kitching, once of Michelin-starred Juniper at Altrincham, has confirmed that his new restaurant at No 3 Royal Terrace in Edinburgh is to be called restaurant 21212.  

Work on the Georgian townhouse is progressing and the 38-cover dining space is targeted to be open for the beginning of May.  

On the first floor there will be a bar and private dining area while on the second there will be three double bedrooms.  

Transparent  

Diners will be able to watch Kitching and his team at work through a floor to ceiling transparent partition.

 Restaurant and room bookings will be taken from late April. The website www.paulkitching.co.uk will launch in February
