Work re-starts on gutted Panacea
GOOD news for Cheshire Set revellers – I hear work is now under way to refurbish the fire-ravaged Panacea bar in Alderley Edge.
The swanky venue went up in flames just a week after it opened in September after an 18-month, £3.2m revamp from former celeb hangout Brasingamens.
The London Road club has been closed ever since while investigations into the blaze continued. The club’s flagship branch on Manchester’s John Dalton Street is one of the city’s plushest bars and a regular hangout of the city’s VIPs.
Now bosses have confirmed work has restarted alongside renowned interior designer Bernard Carroll on the reconstruction of the venue.
A newsletter from the company stated: “We are pleased to announce that refurbishment works at Panacea Alderley Edge are now underway and we hope to reopen towards the back end of summer.
"Bernard Carroll will once again be at the helm and has already begun working on designs, promising his most inspired concept to date.”
Cheshire Police are still conducting enquiries into the fire. Anyone with information should call Wilmslow CID on 0845 4580000.
