LGBT site set for US launch

SOCIAL networking is, of course, the communication tool of choice for today’s digitally-aware movers and shakers and now the Village community is getting in on the action.

Currently in the process of launching, Xycommunity.com is new site for the LGBT and LGBT-friendly communities.

It will kick off its launch through a sponsorship of the Queer Lounge, the LGBT hub for queer and queer-friendly festival-goers and a program of GLAAD, the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, during the Sundance and Slamdance film festivals in Park City, Utah.

Based around the tagline: “Stand up Be Proud! Bringing together one voice in one worldwide forum to create a powerful online social network together”, Xycommunity.com’s aim is 'to facilitate LGBT and LGBT-friendly community’s online social networking and allow people with the same interests to openly connect with each other around the world, endorse views and express themselves openly'.

Owned by Manchester-based Pomles Ltd - Lesley Manning who along with Phoebe Olesi, is behind the project issued its users this message: “I wish you every success in connecting LGBT individuals and communities; empowering and uplifting us all.”
