Growth at Greens
DIDSBURY vegetarian restaurant Greens, co-owned by television chef Simon Rimmer, has marked 18 years in business by more than doubling its covers capacity from 32 to 80.
In a £170,000 refurbishment, the eaterie has also extended its kitchen and bar area.
The venue's win of Best Vegetarian Restaurant in the CityLife.co.uk Manchester Food And Drink Festival Awards 2008 was the latest in a long line of plaudits - and it was struggling to cope with demand from potential diners before its expansion.
Rimmer, who owns Greens with Simon Connolly, told the business team of the Manchester Evening News: ""We have been considering expanding Greens for some time.
"Our challenge was to expand the capacity while maintaining the restaurant's friendly atmosphere. We are very pleased with the result."
