Siouxsie @ Academy 2 - Wearing a silver skin-tight outfit, the high priestess of punk performed most of her excellent solo album, as well as treating the audience to some classic Siouxsie & The Banshees hits.

Gary Numan @ Academy 1 - Looking better than any other man of 50 wearing eyeliner, the original cyborg punk revisited his 1979 Tubeway Army album Replicas with surprising virility.

Rage Against The Machine @ Leeds Festival - Absolutely fantastic - the best performance I have ever seen at a festival.

Massive Attack @ Castlefield Arena - The amazing light show that accompanied Massive Attack’s headline performance was superb.

Motörhead @ Apollo - The heavy rock outfit played a blistering 90-minute show that made it seem that dry ice, hard rock-and-roll riffs and lengthy drum solos never went out of style.
