Credit crunch beer raises smiles for drinkers

AS the price of a pint steadily increases, an award-winning Gloucestershire brewery has unveiled the UK's first 'credit crunch beer'.

Bankers Draft, a reliable full-bodied ale, aims to raise a smile in the face of the credit crunch.

'Everyone needs cheering up in these difficult times,' says Mike Flavin, operations director with the Wickwar Brewing Company. 

'We hope all adults, including bankers, will enjoy the humour and the ale.'

2p from every pint sold will be donated to the Wooden Spoon charity, which helps disadvantaged children throughout the UK.

Bankers Draft is available on hand-pull at the brewery's flagship White Lion pub in the heart of Bristol's banking district.  

The real ale is also available in bottled version and mini-drafts from www.wickwarbrewing.co.uk.
