Lycett gets your 'wildcard' vote

Lycett has made Sunday's final

WELL the general public have had their say.

After a week of online voting right here on CityLife.co.uk, our users have crowned Joe Lycett as their ‘wildcard’ choice to join the other heat winners in Sunday’s CityLife Comedian Of The Year Final.

Lycett beat off seven other contestants to secure his place in the race for the 2008 gong at the Comedy Store.
 
He originally appeared in the first heat when comedy critic and judge Marissa Burgess said this about his performance: “Lycett put forward an impressive set with a lovely, highly expressive stage presence and nicely original material.”

And it appears the CityLife users agreed, after awarding the clip of his set the highest aggregate star-rating on our site.

The Manchester University drama and English student will join Phil Buckley, Ben Davis, Rachel Fairburn, Eddie Hoo, Mick McGrath, Mick Sergeant, Rod Shepherd and Gareth Urwin at the Deansgate Locks venue for the traditional Manchester Comedy Festival curtain closer.

The Channel M CityLife Comedian of the Year Final is at the Comedy Store on Sunday, October 26. £10 - £27.
