Folk and Food Comes To Cup Café

DURING the 10 days of non-stop culinary overindulgence that is Manchester Food And Drink Festival, there's only one event which is bringing together musicians from near and far to serve up the food of love.

So for those of us who would like to entertain our ears as well as our tastebuds, let's play on.

For Folk's Sake is fresh from the kitchen of Sophie Parkes, violinist with acclaimed local rock band and CityLife favourites Air Cav, and it's a home cooked recipe she has prepared with the most tender loving care.

Music comes from singer-songwriters Dan Melrose and Jenny McCormick, with performance poetry courtesy of Steph Pike and Ben Mellor.

And refreshments will of course be served, with ethically sourced and organic tea, coffee and cake on offer, as well as delicious fresh food for carnivores and herbivores alike.

So this Thursday, from 6-9pm, head to Mr Scruff's quirky little Cup tea room on Thomas Street, where we are invited to enjoy “treats for the heart, soul and belly”. It's an offer it'd be foolish to refuse.
