AT the second heat of this year's CityLife.co.uk Comedian Of The Year competition, the acts hoping to follow in the footsteps of comedy greats like Peter Kay, Caroline Aherne, and Johnny Vegas include Gareth Irwin, Peter McCole, Jeff Downs as Rod Shepherd, Michael J. Dolan, Mick McGrath and Sean Mason.

Toby Hadoke introduces the show and Ted Alexandro is the headliner.

As with each of the four heat, two winners will be selected by our expert judges, and you will also soon be able to vote for a wildcard entry at citylife.co.uk.

These will go forward to the star-studded Grand Final at the prestigious Comedy Store on Sunday, October 26, hosted by John Thomson.
