Literature: Martin Amis on Larkin
AGEING enfant terrible of British letters Martin Amis and poets James Fenton and John McAuliff team up to discuss the work and influence of Philip Larkin.
The event, organised by Manchester University's Centre for New Writing, is at 6.30pm on Thursday, October 2 at at the Whitworth Hall on Oxford Road.
Larkin was recently named the greatest post-war English writer by The Times, and was chosen as the nation’s best-loved poet in a 2003 survey by the Poetry Book Society.
Martin Amis is the university's Professor of Creative Writing. This is a ticketed event with limited places. Tickets cost £5 (£3 concessions) and are available by contacting 0161 275 8951 or boxoffice@manchester.ac.uk.
