JON Brookes of The Charlatans is the special guest DJ for club night Buff Bang Pow at the Ruby Lounge on September 14.

The drummer is joined on the bill by popular Midlands five-piece The Arcadian Kicks, of whom he is manager; and rising Manchester stars Orchids.

Fresh from this year's Isle Of Wight Festival in June, playing beside established acts Feeder, NYPC and The Music, The Arcadian Kicks are making their mark with a UK-wide tour.

Orchids have enjoyed attention from Channel M and XFM DJ Clint Boon after supporting The Pigeon Detectives in Manchester in 2007.
