Edinburgh hits are at The Lowry

The Avon Lady The Avon Lady

At The Lowry there is the chance to book for two ‘alternative’ theatre shows.
An Instinct For Kindness tonight only at 8pm is part of The Lowry’s Picks Of The Edinburgh Festival.

Chris Larner returns from Switzerland’s Dignitas Clinic with an empty wheel-chair and a story to tell.

It may not be for the faint-hearted but it won an Edinburgh Fringe First at last year’s Festival.

Avon Calling, from tonight until Sunday at The Lowry is an altogether different affair.

The ticket for Avon Calling costs £150– yes, you’ve read that correctly- but it’s for a performance for up to 10 people in the comfort of your own home.

The Avon Lady will call with all her beauty tips, but there’s an unusual twist when she reveals more than just her make-up secrets.

This show is performed by the Birmingham- based, The Other Way Works Company and is also part of the Pick Of The Edinburgh Festival.

If you think that is a great idea then the award-winning, Manchester-based Rocket Theatre Company also performs their shows in private homes as well as public events.

Their last performance was well-received at Knutsford Golf Club. More details from Martin Harris at rockettheatre.co.uk
