Must see: Chorlton Green Festival 2011
Chorlton Green - April 16, 2011
There are times when the prospect of going green has a dwindling appeal, but there are others when all the hard work is really done for you. And one of the best examples of this is the annual Chorlton Green Festival.
Based around St Clement’s Church, on Edge Lane, the festival embraces a family-friendly approach to reforming your least green ways and gives you advice on turning those small reforms into permanent changes.
CGF promotes the benefits of two wheels in its Bike To The Future campaign via cycling workshops, dance-offs, repair races and the annual pedal parade.
There’s a feast of live music too, including turns from Josephine, The Acoustic Conquistador and Thingamabob And The Thingamajigs.
Cracking Good Food’s network of cooks are back with courses and tastings (bookings only via fiona@crackinggoodfood.org), and for the kids, a visit from the star of Mr Bloom’s Nursery – Mr Bloom himself, ready to teach the young ‘uns how to grow their own.
