Grass @ 24:7 Theatre Festival

WRITER Mark Whiteley, from Oldham-based touring theatre company Hard Graft, based his hard-hitting but highly entertaining comedy drama on a real-life story he was told by a young offender.

Caz (Nicholas Higgins) and Barry (Daniel Rogers) are a pair of likely lads, whose 'lovable rogue' lifestyles are dangerously disrupted by the unwelcome attentions of local headcase Mully (Andonis Anthony) just as Caz' lovelife looks as if it's on the up after he meets Sadie, a gap-year student from Cheshire.

Well-acted and compellingly written, this could turn out to be the festival's popular hit.
