Ways To Look At Fish @ 24:7 Theatre Festival
THE sins of the fathers… with a twist. Three generations of fatherhood come together in one day, with bitterness, enlightenment, love and eventual reconciliation. And amidst it all, the embattled mum retains her hope and belief.
Writer Colette Kane tells the story in a clever slow-reveal with six scenes in an hour, starting with old Mark, nearing the end of his life, searching for his long-estranged son and discovering a teenage grandson and great grandson.
Gradually, the family come together, reopen old wounds, settle some scores and seek through forgiveness to put things right.
It's a holding tale, touching and funny, tautly directed by Nick Moss, with fine performances from Ruth Evans, Peter Ash, Jeff Hordley and Terry Naylor.
Ways To Look At Fish is at the Midland Hotel until Sunday, July 27. Click here for more information.
