The Game Of Two Halves @ Library Theatre

MIKE Heath's second play premiered at Studio Salford in May 2006 and went on to win that M.E.N. Theatre Award-winning fringe theatre's own awards for Best New Writing and Best New Director. It then went on to play at Taurus bar and Buxton Festival, where it was again award-nominated.

Now it's part of the Library Theatre's Re:Play , a festival designed to provide a platform for some of the best of the work produced in non-traditional theatre venues over the last year or so. Certainly, The Game Of Two Halves well deserves going into extra time in this way.

Pete (Dan Atkinson) and Simon (Steven Mark) are a loving gay couple. No problem there. Pete's work-colleague and best pal is the opinionated, homophobic Tom (Ian Curley). Not a real problem, either, as long, thinks Pete, as he keeps his sexuality secret from Tom.

There's a big problem, though, when Tom gets tickets for a big Manchester United match and wants Pete to come with him. Simon insists on coming too and it's only a matter of time before secrets spill out. Funny, thought-provoking and well-acted, The Game Of Two Halves is a real winner.

The Game Of Two Halves continues until tonight (January 19) at 3pm and 8.45pm. Karry Owky from Vista Theatre can be seen from January 24-26 at 7pm.
