24:7 Canaveral's Lurch @ Palace Theatre Stalls Bar

A DISGRACED TV star, his career wrecked by a tabloid columnist exposing him for child sex abuse, takes terrifying revenge five years later.

Not only that but, in a wicked double coup, he compels a young door-stepping journalist to record his action on video.

Writer Neil Edwards, who also plays the lead role of Ross Canaveral, the TV illusionist, has created a gripping and almost credible scenario, pointedly exposing the way in which a journalist can make his name by ruining someone elseés life.

Trolley

Canaveral kidnaps the columnist, chains him into a shopping trolley linked to battery leads, and finally strings him up.

Thereés violence, torture and bad language. But it is well-written and powerfully performed by Edwards, Sean Halligan and Darien Marsh as the next-generation journalist.

Director Ian Karl Moore uses the venue creatively, with a six-location promenade production.

Canaveral's Lurch is in the Palace Theatre Stalls Bar again tonight (July 27) and on Saturday, July 29. The 24:7 Festival run until Sunday. For more information call 0161 236 7110 or click here .
