'Priest Feast' tour set for city
IN these times of grim recession, it seems like everyone is making a concerted effort to downsize and downscale. Everyone but Judas Priest, that is.
The heavy rockers from the Midlands are hitting the nation’s arenas with a special package tour called Priest Feast – a lavish, indulgent and shamelessly ostentatious celebration of old-school heavy metal in which they take top billing with support from rock legends Megadeth and Testament.
In all fairness, we shouldn’t expect anything subtle from these three rock legends.
True icons of the Seventies’ British metal movement, Judas Priest have flouted fashion and musical trends to re-emerge in the noughties as a proud advert for old-school metal where the amplifiers are always turned up to eleven and the trousers are reliably of the tight leather variety.
Bringing even more metal indulgence to the Priest Feast tour are support acts Megadeth, formed by ex-Metallica member Dave Mustaine, and US thrash metallers Testament.
Forget downsizing – it’s time to indulge in real rock extravagance.
Judas Priest play the Apollo on Tuesday, February 17. £37.50.
