With his band, The Enemy, on voluntary hiatus until the middle of the year, Tom Clarke has found himself with a little time on his hands.

And Tom is choosing to fill it in a way that is surely a proper bit of good news for Mancunian music lovers.

Because to celebrate South nightclub’s 15 years in business, Tom is coming to the venue to perform a special solo, acoustic set.

Yes, we did say South. And yes we are talking live music. And no, it’s not some discreet party before the doors open on the nightclub.

This is one man playing anthems like You’re Not Alone and Had Enough at 11.15pm – a good 45 minutes after the doors open – before he joins Clint Boon for a session on the decks. The format is one that South hopes to repeat with other musicians and DJs to mark its 15th year.

Personally, we’re keeping everything crossed the next name announced will be Fiddy Cent ahead of his Manchester Evening News Arena appearance...

South - March 12, 2010 - £7.
