OUR Take That lads may have gone a little quiet in recent weeks, but the band rumbled back to life again yesterday – with a convoy of 59 trucks containing all the props for their eagerly awaited summer tour.
The Take That-branded trucks left the band’s top secret rehearsal location yesterday morning, carrying the staging, lights and set up to Sunderland’s Stadium of Light where The Circus Live tour opens on June 5.
And from the size of that convoy, it’s safe to say we can expect something a little bit special from the Manchester-formed band.
When I caught up with the lads earlier this year, they said it would be their best show yet.
Gary Barlow told me: “We take it very seriously, it’s going to be big, it’s going to be spectacular – the greatest show we’ve ever done. With a title like The Circus it does allow you to be imaginative, we are definitly working around that theme.”
Gary and bandmates Mark Owen, Howard Donald and Jason Orange will play to over 1m people on their 20-date UK tour, including five nights at Lancashire County Cricket Club between June 23 and 28 making it the biggest tour the band have ever undertaken.
Could it be magic? It’s a dead cert!
