Kasabian to bring Asylum to Academy
KASABIAN fans - prepare to be indulged.
As, as well as being granted the opportunity to catch the Leicester rock’n’rollers supporting showbiz pals Oasis at their three Heaton Park shows in June, the fiery quartet will also return to play a tad more intimate show to round off a busy month.
Part of a 20-date UK tour, the lengthy jaunt will kick-off with three hometown shows before arriving at Academy 1 on June 30.
The four-piece, who gave away their comeback single 'Vlad The Impaler' last month through Kasabian.co.uk, will follow it up with their third album 'West Rider Pauper Lunatic Asylum' on June 8.
Firebrand
Proclaimed by firebrand frontman Tom Meighan and the boys as ‘21st century future music’, one hopes they haven’t fallen into the same trap as nu-rave scene leaders the Klaxons.
As their debut ‘Myths Of The Near Future’ turned out to be something of a self-fulfilling prophecy with more than a sniff of emperor’s new clothes about it - the quartet are now struggling to compose a viable follow-up.
The East Midlanders have shown far more heart and soul to date though, making them leading pretenders to Oasis’ crown in the eyes of the general public.
Kasabian play Academy 1 on Tuesday, June 30. £22.50.
