POWER-POPTASTIC: Iglu & Hartly

1 / 1 imagesPOWER-POPTASTIC: Iglu & Hartly

LIKE the ambassador's guests and the divine Ferrer Rocher, fans of madcap, power-poppers Iglu & Hartly are being spoiled.

As after playing a pre-Christmas show in the city little over a month ago, the colourful Californian quartet have announced a return to the city next month.

The five-piece hit the headlines thanks to a skipping piece of pop called In This City, which was a massive end of summer smash back in September, going on to shift 100,000 copies.

And while their debut album, & Then Boom, racked up scores of underwhelming reviews, they really are hailed as a band you have to see in a live setting.

They return to Manchester in February as part of series of NME Awards Shows, which will also see performances by trip-hop veteran Tricky and Scouse indie scamps the Wombats.

Iglu & Hartly play Academy 3 on Wednesday, February 18. £9.58. Call 0161 832 1111.
