ARMED with my hair brush I ventured into the kingdom of karaoke at Tiger Tiger for the advance event of Manchester Literature Festival.

The Printworks venue's spaceage Karaoke Pods are not accustomed to purveying the classics. They are usually more chick than lit friendly, but I gace it my all with some sensual solliloquies on National Poetry Day.

Never one to get bored of the sound of my own voice I thought I’d give it a go and as I’m called Byron why not recite a poem from one of the greatest romantic poets of all time? Lord Byron’s ‘We'll go no more a roving’.

If my career continues the way it is I can expect to end my days in exile and shame just like my namesake and after this performance it may come sooner rather than later.
