National Badminton and Squash Championships kick off
HOW often do you get two rapid-fire racket games coming to a stadium near you at once? Never? No, we can't recall an occasion since the 2002 Commonwealth Games.
But sure enough, in the week ahead SportCity will be ringing with the sound of squeaking trainers as both the National Badminton Championships and the National Squash Championships book in for the finals.
Over at the Velodrome, the badminton kicks off today with men's and women's singles matches, plus doubles and mixed doubles draws playing through from 10am to 10pm.
After the finals on Sunday, the squash picks up the action over at the National Squash Centre from Tuesday with matches planned right through until February 14 and masters lined up to play.
