WHAT'S so special about staying in a mill, you might be wondering? Well, if you’re not familiar with Islington Mill, I can see why you might ask that.

Once you’ve heard that it’s a hotbed of artistic activity, entertaining impromptu gigs and parties from artists such as The Ting Tings, you might just change your mind.

When you hear that the Mill has been working with major arts bodies such as the Chinese Arts Centre, FACT and Salford Restoration, in order to host their artists, perhaps a little jealousy may even arise. Fear not, however: this isn’t just reserved for artists, but indeed open to everyone.

Although the mill promises to have a website specifically for the B&B up and running soon, at the moment it’s still a question of word-of-mouth. So if you want an alternative to budget hotels for yourself, your friends, or your colleagues, Islington Mill may start to be a strong contender.

And if you get in now – before the website is up – no doubt the whole experience will have a more home-grown feel to it. With double rooms costing £50 and breakfast chucked in free, it’s certainly available to most people.

To book a room, contact Bill on bill.campbell@islingtonmill.com or give him a call on 07947 649 896. See the link on the side for more general info about the mill’s activities, roots and so on.
