Jacksons Boat hosts mini-festival of performing arts
CITYLIFE'S ashamed to admit that when we first read about 'Jacksonbury Festival' we thought it was a misprint for, erm, Glastonbury. Luckily for us it wasn't, which means we've got both Glasto and another festival (which sounds a bit like it) to look forward to this summer.
On June 27 at Jackson's Boat (between Trafford Water Park and Chorlton Water Park on the banks of the Mersey), all manner of acts, performers and DJs are booked to make "the alternative Glasto" one to remember.
With two stages and an eclectic fringe line-up (belly dancers, jugglers, a knitting circle) plus weather reports hinting that the sun may make an appearance, Jacksonbury-goers will be able to revel well into the small hours - and they'll also be able to bring their kids.
Jacksonbury Festival is at Jackson's Boat, just off Junction 6 of the M60 on the edge of Trafford Waterpark. Adult tickets cost £15 and children under 5 go free. Go to www.jacksonbury.com for details
