Blast of learning in Salford
THE BBC Blast Learning Festival comes to Salford on Wednesday (October 22), offering young people a variety of free workshops, events and activities - and a few star tutors.
The four-day educational programme features Sound and Fury: Hip Hop Shakespeare, with MOBO-award-winning rapper Akala; songwriting masterclasses with Tom Hingley of Inspiral Carpets; DJ workshops with Radio 1Xtra; a question-and-answer session with Anthony Quinlan, who plays Gilly in Hollyoaks; and much more.
Supported by Salford City Council and the University of Salford, the event will also offer an insight into university life.
