Quirky cabaret Mish Mash kicks off at The Met, Bury
NEW cabaret night Mish Mash can-canned its way on to Citylife's desk with a dubious warning: "if you've recently undergone a surgical prodecure," say the organisers, "don't risk the comedy. You will burst."
Warnings (or threats) aside, Mish Mash promises that a very strange tour of comedy, poetry and music will kick off at the Met on May 28, before moving to various venues around Greater Manchester.
Mish Mash is made up of the MaD Theatre Company, a few oddball performers and "various hobos" they picked up on the way (including two BBC Radio Manchester presenters). The compere is an "Enigma from Bristol" who goes by the name of, erm, Kelvin, and each night promises a different line-up.
Expect to be dazzled (and slightly scared) by comedy sketches, musical numbers, underground bands and comedians.
Mish Mash kicks off at The Met, Market Street, Bury on May 28, and returns on June 18. Tickets cost £5 and are available from themet.biz or by calling 0161 761 2216
