Special... and free
Royal Exchange TheatreTHE Royal Exchange Theatre's new season of Special FX - its free early evening foyer entertainment - is in full swing, continuing this Friday (October 17) with Comic FX; part of the Manchester Comedy Festival.
This week's line-up features John Goodfellow and Des Sharples, followed next week (October 24) with an evening of comic poetry, with Julian Daniel and Dominic Berry. The latter marks a collaborative effort with the Manchester Literature Festival.
Finally, on October 31, the Halloween entertainment is Vegetable Nannies. A treat for younger audiences, the story follows the fortunes of a family of vegetables on a day out.
The comedy events begin at 6pm and Vegetable Nannies at 5:30pm - all finishing at 7pm. Complemented by cheap drinks from the Great Hall Bar and savings in the Craft Shop, the Special FX sessions are a fresh way to start the weekend.
